George Alfred Woody Jr., 78, of the 3400 block of Hungarian Road, died Sunday, Feb. 11, 1996, at Chesapeake General Hospital.
He was a retired machinist from the Norfolk Naval Base and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was the son of the late George Alfred Woody Sr. and Blanche Clarke Woody and was preceded in death by his stepmother, Ruth Woody. He was a Protestant.
Survivors include his wife, Ethel Rose Woody; a daughter, Ethel R. Snyder of Anchorage, Alaska; a son, George Alfred Woody III of Suffolk; a sister, Eva W. McConnell of Richmond; a brother, Dr. H. Ray Woody of Sarasota, Fla.; three grandchildren, Michael and Christopher Snyder, both of Anchorage and Heather M. Woody of Suffolk.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, Norfolk, by the Rev. Henry V. Napier. Twiford Colonial Chapel, Great Bridge, Chesapeake, is handling arrangements.
