Regarding Robert Stanton's predictions about the MacArthur Center: Notwithstanding his credentials in real-estate management, how can he look into the crystal ball and tell that there will be 30,000 customers a day to shop there?
If the two stores in question are such great drawing cards, why should the city of Norfolk (we taxpayers) have to subsidize them? I remember great expectations for Nauticus, and we, the taxpayers, will be burdened with paying $1 million a year for the next 20 years.
I always assumed that the governing bodies were supposed to represent the people. So when will the day come when we the people have some say on how the city spends our money?
