Sallie Mae Boone, 59, of the 800 block of George Washington Highway, died Feb. 10, 1996, in MCV Hospital in Richmond.
She was a native of Southampton County, Va., and a member of Shiloh Baptist Church, Newsoms, Va.
She is survived by her husband, Spurgeon Boone; four daughters, Gloria S. Lamb of Jacksonville, Fla., Charlotte D. Collins of Salisbury, Md., Sandra Dunbar of Virginia Beach, Brenda Hutchinson of Salisbury, Md.; son, Earl B. William Sr. of Ahoskie, N.C.; six sisters, Virginia Mason of Richmond, Anna Burton of Hampton, Joyce Craig of Richmond, Barbara Joyner of Newsoms, Carolyn Brown of Richmond, Susie Long of Richmond; two brothers, Robert C. Brown Jr. of Richmond, Charles Brown of North Carolina; 11 grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
A funeral will be at noon Thursday by Dr. T.M. Steele in New First Baptist Church, Taylorsville. Burial is in Roosevelt Memorial Park. There will be a wake Wednesday at Serenity Funeral Home. Family and friends will assemble at 404 Truman Circle, Portsmouth, at 11:15 a.m. Thursday for the procession to the church. ILLUSTRATION: Photo
