Edwin Russell House III, 42, died at home Feb. 11, 1996 of natural causes.
Mr. Russell was a Virginia Beach native born March 27, 1953. He held master licenses as well as Virginia and North Carolina Class A licenses in plumbing, H.V.A.C., and was a gas fitter. He was co-owner of B.F. Conte Plumbing, Heating and Mechanical at the time of his death. He had served as board member of Qualified Gas Contractors as well as on the Quality Gas Control Committee. Russell was vice president/superintendant of R.J. Klemstine & Associates Inc. and former president/owner of A-Plus Plumbing Inc.
Prior to that, he was employed as mechanical superintendant for GAVCO Corporation/Schafer Enterprises. He had worked 12 years for Hicks & Ingle Company of Virginia Inc. He was a 1972 graduate of Lake Taylor High School and graduated in 1977 from his apprenticeship sponsored by Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 110. He was a member of National Association of Plumbing, Heating, Cooling Contractors.
He was the beloved husband of Jo Ann Martin House; and devoted father of three daughters, Lettie, Stephanie and Melanie House. He is lovingly survived by his grandmother, Beryl Dunning Forester; his mother and stepfather, Frances and Edward Portafe; and his sister, Bonnie House Klemstine. His passing also leaves a host of relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be conducted at Our Saviour Lutheran Church, 4200 Shore Drive, Virginia Beach on Thursday, at 7:30 p.m. by Pastor Kenneth Carbaugh. The family will receive friends at the church immediately following the service.
