Richard Lynn Clayton, 50, of the 3500 block of Floyd St., died Feb. 11, 1996, in a Portsmouth hospital.
He was a native of Baltimore, Md., and was employed at Tire America. He was predeceased by his parents, Samuel J. and Helen Bible Clayton.
He is survived by his wife, Marsha A. Clayton; three daughters, Sharin C. Brown of Gates, N.C., Tammy L. Barlow of Chesapeake, Donna R. Clayton of Greenbelt, Md.; son, Kenneth S. Clayton of Silver Spring, Md.; six stepchildren, Teri Letzkus, Debra Warga, Christina Houchens, Regina Houchens, Willie Houchens Jr., and Paul Houchens, all of Maryland; sister, Sue Mikeal of Fredericksburg; brother, Samuel J. Clayton Jr. of Chesapeake; and 10 grandchildren, Christopher, Nicholas, Jeremy, Willie, John, Brandi, Rachel, Cheryl, Julie and Samantha.
A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, by the Rev. Mike Bickner. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
