Warren J. Dale, 72, of Cedar Lakes Condominiums, Great Bridge, died Feb. 12, 1996.
He was retired from Lone Star Industries after 40 years and was a native of Arlington, Mass. He was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church, Chesapeake, and the Kiwanis Club of Chesapeake. He was past President of the Virginia Highway Association and member of the American Society of Civil Engineers. He was a graduate of University of New Hampshire with a B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering. Mr. Dale served as a Navigator in World War II in the Army Air Corps and was discharged with the rank of Captain.
He is survived by his wife, Claire Riendeau Dale; three daughters, Elizabeth Dale Barnett and her husband, G. Harden Barnett of Suffolk, Karen Dale Graves and her husband, James M. Graves III of Greensboro, N.C., and Marcia Dale Nutt of Danville, Va.; three sons, the Rev. William J. Dale of Norfolk, Kevin F. Dale and his wife, Barbara M. Dale of Nantucket, Mass., and Dr. James W. Dale and his wife, Caroline S. Dale of Chesapeake; sister, Margery Errgong; brother, William P. Dale; and 16 grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, William P. Dale and Annie Bresnan Dale.
A joyful Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. in Prince of Peace Catholic Church, Chesapeake. Interment will take place Thursday at 10 a.m. in Chesapeake Memorial Gardens. The family will be at the church today from 7 to 9 p.m. for visitation. Memorial donations may be made to Prince of Peace Catholic Church or the American Lung Association. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Bridge Chapel, is in charge of the arrangements.
