John Edward Knight, 83, of Hawthorne Drive, died Feb. 12, 1996, at his residence.
Mr. Knight, a retired supervisor, worked for Norfolk Naval Shipyard. He was a member of St. Brides Episcopal Church, Doric Masonic Lodge (NU)44, and John Walters Royal Arch Chapter (NU)68.
Survivors include his wife, Clara Bamforth Knight; three daughters, Alice K. Dessayer of Moraga, Calif., Peggy K. Fafara of Norfolk, Susan A. Marconyak of Virginia Beach; a son, John Edward Knight Jr. of Martin, Tenn.; a sister, Mary Roberts Knight of Norfolk; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will conducted at 1 p.m. Friday in St. Brides Episcopal Church by the Rev. Michael J. Godderz. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks contributions be made to the St. Bride's Living Memorial Fund. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Indian River Chapel, is in charge.
