Elizabeth Louise Council, 74, of the 400 block of Bobby Jones Drive, died Feb. 14, 1996, in a Portsmouth hospital.
She was as a retired salesperson for Roses Department Store in Portsmouth where she had worked for 25 years. She was a Catholic and a native of Newburg, N.Y.
She is survived by her husband, Otis C. Council; three daughters, Gloria Carr of Suffolk, Bonnie Richards of Richmond, Linda Norton of Norfolk; a son, Robert Council of Chesapeake; two brothers, Joseph Yakal of Los Angeles and William Yakal of Clifton, N.Y.; 11 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday by Steve Bingham in Loving Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. The family will be at the funeral home Friday from 7 to 8 p.m.
