William Grubbs Burcher, 61, died Feb. 13, 1996. He was a designer with M. Rosenblatt and Son.
He is survived by his wife, Jean H. Burcher; a daughter, Yvonne Beth Pereira of Hampton; a son, Lt. Col. William R. ``Rusty'' Burcher of Colorado Springs, Colo.; his mother, Mrs. Alma V. Benton of Newport News; two sisters, Jean B. Shumate of Newport News and Manola Bass of North Carolina; two brothers, James T. Benton of Hampton and George Benton of Kansas; and three grandchildren.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday by the Rev. Lawrence J. Biermann in Riverside Funeral Home, Newport News. Burial will be in Peninsula Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Operation Smile, Peninsula Chapter, P.O. Box 12131, Newport News, 23612. The family will receive friends today from 7 to 8 p.m. at Riverside Funeral Home.
