FLORA T. SIMONE

Flora Turner Simone, 89, a resident of the East Pavilion for the past nine years, died Feb. 13, 1996, in Southampton Memorial Hospital.

She was a native of Southampton County and was the daughter of the late George Turner and Gabie Lankford T. Holcombe. She was the widow of Joseph Simone, chief band master, U.S. Navy retired. Mrs. Simone had retired as a salesperson for Leggett Department Stores and was a member of the Hunterdale United Church of Christ.

Survivors include four half-sisters, Bonnie H. Battle, Doris H. Bradshaw and Willis H. Barnes, all of Franklin, and Dawn H. Wright of Smithfield; two half-brothers, J. Braxton Holcombe of Courtland and Marvin A. Holcombe of Ephrata, Pa.; two grandchildren, Dawn S. Middleton of Jerome, Idaho, and Ronnie Sears of Newport, R.I.; and five great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter, Dorothy Sears and a half-brother, C.J. Holcombe.

The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in Wright Funeral Home by the Rev. James W. Browder III. Burial will be in Hampton National Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the home of Cliff and Willis Barnes at 700 Hunterdale Road, and suggest that memorials be made to a favorite charity.
