Taubaum Co. is the leading developer and mall owner in the United States. It will see that MacArthur Center Shopping Mall is leased to quality merchants who in turn will not only attract shoppers locally but also those customers from outlying areas who now go to Washington, D.C., New York City or use the mail-order houses to order quality merchandise.
I have leased and operated four stores in malls owned and managed by Taubaum Co. - one in Short Hill, N.J., two in Detroit and one in Northern Virginia. All four were very successful businesses for more than 15 years.
As a merchant and property owner in Norfolk for more than 50 years, I feel that this new mall will be Norfolk's brightest star in retail and will compliment all of our shopping areas both for the property owners and for the merchants.
With leadership such as this, Norfolk has a great future.
