BACK TALK

MOST of our responses to our Teenspeak question of the week are in agreement. The question, ``Should communication be regulated on the Internet?'' received a thumbs down.

``Censorship on the Internet violates the First Amendment in which there should be freedom of speech and also freedom of viewing. If it's really bad and has sexual content, parental discretion should be advised for most children.'' - Adam Ebel, senior, Cox High School

``I believe that communication on the Internet should not be regulated because the smut does not come to you, you go to it.'' - Gordon Marx, 13, Kemps Landing Magnet School

``It is the parent's job to control what their kids see on the Internet. There are four or five organizations that can censor any material that is not necessary needed to be seen by minors. If the government feels they need to control these kind of things, where does it stop. Censorship is evil. In a country that is supposed to be free, this doesn't make much sense.'' - Micah Kaplan, 18, Princess Anne High School

``I think the Internet is inappropriate, the things that appear on there, no one should be looking at it, not even adults.'' - Ariel Gaynor, 13, Norview Middle School by CNB
