Howard Earl Godwin Sr., 81, of the 5800 block of Bennetts Creek Lane, died Feb. 14, 1996.
Mr. Godwin, a native of Perquimans County, N.C., was retired as captain of security guards from Planter's Nuts. He was a member of Berea Christian Church, Driver.
Survivors include his wife, Blanche D. Godwin; two sons, Howard Earl Godwin Jr. of Suffolk, Merrill D. Godwin of Chesapeake; a granddaughter, Sara Jeanette Godwin.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens by the Rev. James Cress. The family will receive friends at Sturtevant Funeral Home, Bennetts Creek Chapel, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today. Memorial donations may be made to the Berea Christian Church Organ Fund.
