Millard F. Reid Sr. of the 2800 block of Bald Eagle Road died Feb. 14, 1996.
Mr. Reid, the widower of Florence C. Reid, was a native of Princess Anne County. He was retired from Cavalier Hotels. Mr. Reid was a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church, Virginia Beach, where he was involved in the Deacon Board, director of The Cathedral Choir and Male Chorus, former Sunday school teacher, former church sexton for many years, Sunday school and church organist and former church financial secretary. He was also a member of Masonic Lodge Ruth (NU)92 P.H.A.
Survivors include a daughter, J. Sylvia Henderson of Alexandria, Va.; two sons, Charles F. Reid Sr. of Portsmouth and Millard F. Reid Jr. of Laurel, Md.; four sisters, Bertie Allen and Evelyn Pradia, both of Virginia Beach, and Laura Wilson and Violet Powell, both of Norfolk; two brothers, Leroy R. Reid of Williamston, N.C., and Thomas R. Reid of Petersburg; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two daughters-in-law, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in Piney Grove Baptist Church, 2804 Holland Road, by the Rev. Dr. Benjamin W. Robertson. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Community Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, is in charge.
