Vurneace Harrison Stephens, 79, of the 2700 block of Wesley St., died Feb. 14, 1996.
She was a native of Scotland Neck, N.C., and was predeceased by her parents, Herbert B. and Maggie Coburn Harrison. She was the widow of Harold P. Stephens.
She is survived by three daughters, Ann R. Dickens of Norfolk, Eloise S. Efird of Portsmouth, Jenny L. Stephens of Virginia Beach; three sons, Herbert ``Toby'' D. Stephens of Naples, Fla., Harold P. Stephens Jr. and his wife, Jean of Scotland Neck, Dennis L. Stephens and his wife, Sallye of Norfolk; two sisters, Ruby Braddy of Scotland Neck, Mildred Drake of Washington, N.C.; sister-in-law, Ila Jones of Wilmington, N.C.; daughter-in-law, Jeffryn G. Stephens of Durham, N.C.; aunt, Bea Hardy of Scotland Neck; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and many loving nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by a son, Tyrone H. Stephens.
A graveside service will be conducted at 3 p.m. today in Olive Branch Cemetery by the Rev. Mike Drewry of Windsor, Va. Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, is in charge.
