Helen Lewis Ellis, of Black Creek, Va., died Feb. 15, 1996 at Southampton Memorial Hospital.
A native of Southampton County, she was the daughter of the late Robert L. and Blanche Lewis. She worked many years as a nurse's aide for the Southampton County Health Department as well as working private duty.
Survivors include a daughter, Robin Keech; a son, Elton Ray Ellis, both of Black Creek; two grandsons, Shawn Keech of Bolivar, Mo. and Ryan Keech of Black Creek; a sister, Mary Anne Dundalow of Franklin; and a brother, Robert Lewis of Courtland.
Rev. Wayne Underwood will preside over the memorial service Saturday at 10 a.m. at Black Creek Baptist Church. The family suggests memorials be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
