Grady Jefferson Furlough, 62, of 125 Bateman's Beach Road, died Feb. 15, 1996 at Chowan Hospital in Edenton, N.C.
Mr. Furlough was the owner and master operator of a tug boat company, Furlough Inc. He was a member and deacon at the Oak Grove Baptist Church in Roper. He was the son of the late Thomas Jefferson and Nanny Edwards Furlough. He was the husband of Mrs. Marquita McGowan Furlough.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Gwendelyn F. Valentine of Elizabeth City and Anne F. Harrell of Roper; five grandchildren, Marquita Valentine and Samantha Valentine, both of Elizabeth City, Justin Harrell, Jessica Harrell, and Joshua Harrell, all of Roper.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Oak Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Royce Williams officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Evans Funeral Home today from 7 to 8 p.m., and at other times, at the residence. The Evans Funeral Home of Edenton is serving the Furlough family.
