DOLLY V. TERRY

Dolly Easley Vaden Terry, 76, of the 4400 block of Seagrove Road, died Feb. 15, 1996, in her home.

Mrs. Terry, a native of Gretna, Va., was the daughter of former State Senator Robert Carrington Vaden and Mrs. Kate Paris Vaden. She attended Pittsylvania County Public Schools and studied voice at Virginia Intermont College and Averett College where she was lead soprano. She was a former member of Gretna Baptist Church and a 42-year member of Churchland Baptist Church, where she was formerly active in the choir, Cradle Roll, Ladies Aid Society and the Missionary Society. She was formerly active in the Portsmouth Service League; and was a 25-year member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

Survivors include her husband, Dr. William S. Terry; two sons, W. Sanford Terry Jr. and his wife, Nona M. Terry, of Midlothian, Va., Dr. Charles V. Terry and his wife, Susan P. Terry, of Richmond; four grandchildren, W.S. ``Mitch'' Terry, Bessie H. Terry, C. Walker Terry, and Caroline Vaden Terry; a sister, Kathryn Vaden Sparrow of Martinsville, Va.; a brother, Charles C. Vaden of Columbia, S.C.; three nieces; and six nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Margaret Vaden Bouldin, and a brother, Robert C. Vaden Jr.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday in Churchland Baptist Church by Dr. R. Clinton Hopkins. Burial will be in Churchland Baptist Church Cemetery. Friends may join the family today from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at Foster Funeral Home, Portsmouth. Memorial donations may be made to Churchland Baptist Church or to a charity of choice.
