A government investigator of Nazi war criminals will speak Monday at Old Dominion University on ``The U.S. Government and Investigation of Nazi Crimes.''
Elizabeth White, a Norfolk native, is chief of investigative research for the Office of Special Investigations in the Criminal Division of the Justice Department. She investigates Nazis and collaborators from World War II who have entered the United States under false pretenses according to immigration law. Such investigations can result in deportation.
With the fall of communism in Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union, White's office has had access to more documents than ever before and has received support from the Czech Republic, Ukraine and Russia. The office is working on about 300 cases.
Her lecture, at 2 p.m. in room 100 of Kaufman Hall, is free and open to the public. by CNB
