James R. ``Jim'' Bryce, 59, formerly of Portsmouth, died Wednesday, Feb. 7, 1996, at his home.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy with 30 years of service. He was a member of Grove Park Baptist Church.
He is survived by three daughters: Loretta L. Wright of Portsmouth, Cathy B. Warren of Richlands, N.C., and Deanna L. Ayers of Portsmouth; seven grandchildren, Zachary, Amber, Andrew, DeWayne and Lyndsey of Portsmouth and Kelly and David of North Carolina. He is also survived by a caring niece, Nancy R. Bryce, and her children Margie and Timothy; five brothers and two sisters, all of Minnesota.
The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 18, at 3503 Creig St., Portsmouth. Burial will be in his woods in Duluth, Minn., at a later date.
