Dorothy Lockett Echols, 92, died Thursday, Feb. 15, 1996, at Sentara Nursing Center in Norfolk.
A native of Matoaca, Va., Ms. Echols was the daughter of the late James Early and Maggie Wilson Lockett.
She is survived by her daughter, Dorothy Byrd Brewer of Virginia Beach; a sister, Carol Bragg of Charlottesville; two grandchildren, the Rev. Ronnie Rice of Norfolk, and Deborah Wilkerson of Virginia Beach. Also surviving are four great-grandchildren.
A graveside funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in Blandford Cemetery in Petersburg, Va., with the Rev. Ronnie Rice and Robert Harris officiating. The family will receive friends at the E. Alvin Small Funeral Home in Colonial Heights, Va., from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. The procession will leave the funeral home at 1:30 p.m.
