MINNIE P. ELLIOTT

Minnie Parker Elliott, 69, of the 2900 block of Corprew Ave., died Feb. 13, 1996, in a local hospital.

Mrs. Elliott, who was born in Wilson, N.C, was a member of Second Calvary Baptist Church in Norfolk and a member of the Fannie Cypress Missionary Circle. She retired from the Naval Air Station Norfolk Navy Exchange in 1969 after 14 years of service.

She is survived by her husband, Odell Elliott; two daughters, Cathy P. Vappie of New Orleans, Valarie P. Bland of Norfolk; two sons, Johnnie Parker Jr. of Virginia Beach, Nathaniel Parker Sr. of Norfolk; a sister, Louise Watson of Norfolk; three brothers, Joseph Parker of Newark, N.J., Charles Parker and David Parker, both of Norfolk; 15 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her mother, Minnie Parker and her father, Jessie Parker.

There will be a wake on Sunday in Hale Funeral Home Chapel from 6 to 7 p.m. On Monday, the remains will be placed in the church at 10 a.m. Family and friends will assemble at 2906 Corprew Ave. at 11 a.m. for the funeral procession. At noon, the Rev. Dr. Geoffrey Guns will preside over the service at the Second Calvary Baptist Church in Norfolk. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. ILLUSTRATION: Photo
