CORRECTIONS
Some figures were incorrect in a story about the Southeastern
Expressway in Friday's MetroNews section.
Of the five highway routes considered by the Commonwealth
Transportation Board, the worst-case alternative would have required
condemnation of 13 businesses and 777 homes - not hundreds of
businesses and thousands of homes, as the story said.
If the chosen route is built, it will require the condemnation of
177 homes. That figure was correct in the story.
Two photo captions were reversed with a story on Chevys on the
front of Friday's Auto Weekly section. The top photo showed Leo
Boehm with a 1964 Bel Air station wagon, while the bottom left photo
showed Dan and Dorothy Williams with their 1963 Impala Super Sport.
``The Saloon Keeper's Daughter,'' a musical melodrama, will be
performed tonight at 8 and Sunday at 2 p.m. A listing in the Beacon
community news section had a wrong time for the Sunday performance.
The show is being presented by the Little Theater of Portsmouth at
Wilson High School in Portsmouth.
