Ophelia Louise Parson, 67, of the 1900 block of Montclair Ave., died Feb. 14, 1996, in her residence.
Mrs. Parson was born and educated in Norfolk. She was a former beautician, and she accepted Christ at an early age. Her bright smile and cheerful ways always brightened the lives of everyone she met. Mrs. Parson was a faithful member of First Baptist Church, Campostella for 19 years, where she was a devoted member of the gospel choir.
Mrs. Parson was predeceased by John C. Parson Sr. Survivors include her husband, George Parson Sr.; three daughters, Carol P. Allen of Charles City, Va., Cheryl Spalding and Mattie Lynn Pitt of Chesapeake; four sons, William Parson and John Parson Jr., both of Norfolk, Kelvin Parson and Thomas Parson, both of Capitol Heights, Md.; brother, Pernell Moore; three sons-in-law; a daughter-in-law; eight grandchildren; and a host of friends and relatives.
The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday at First Baptist Church, Campostella, by the Rev. Harold Cason. The burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park. Pretlow and Sons' Funeral Home in charge. ILLUSTRATION: Photo
