FRANCES N. THOMAS

Frances N. Thomas, of the 1300 block of Gust Lane, died Feb. 16, 1996, in Portsmouth General Hospital.

She was a retired public school teacher of the Portsmouth City Public School System where she had worked for 40 years. She was a native of Atlanta, Ga. and a member and choir member of Rock Church, Virginia Beach. She was a member of the Retired Teachers Association. She was also a member of the national, state, and local Education Association, and the national sorority of Phi Delta Kappa Alphi Chi and the National Association of University Women.

She is survived by an aunt; two great-nephews; and a very devoted friend, Martha D. Riddick; and many other friends.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday by the Rev. Betty F. Forbes in Rock Church, 640 Kempsville Road, Virginia Beach. Burial is in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. Viewing at Corprew Funeral Home will begin at noon Monday. The body will be taken to the church at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday.
