Mary Bain Ewald, 95, of the 600 block of Kingsborough Square, died Feb. 17, 1996, in a local nursing home.
She was a native of Portsmouth and the widow of William A. Ewald.
She is survived by two daughters, Margaret Sampson of Andover, Va., and Gwen Swofford of Chesapeake; two sons, William A. Ewald Jr. of Knotts Island, N.C., and Robert J. Ewald of Suffolk; 15 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and 8 great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Earl A. Ewald.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday by the Rev. Robert Hastings in Colonial Grove Memorial Park. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Bridge Chapel, in charge.
