BARBARA D. JOHNSON

Barbara Darden Johnson died Feb. 16, 1996.

She was a retired nurse for Lafayette Villa and was a native of Isle of Wight County, Virginia. She was a member of Talbot Park Baptist Church. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Norfolk General Hospital. She was an active volunteer and supporter for mandatory seatbelt laws. She had also volunteered with the Red Cross. She was a very loving wife, mother and grandmother.

She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Raymond Johnson; son, Edwin S. Johnson of Norfolk; three sisters, Louise D. Tupack of Palmsprings, Fla., Dorothy D. Hayes of Norfolk, and Cora D. Norburg of Norfolk; brother, James Clayton Darden of Carrsville, Va.; and three grandchildren, Lynne, Barry and Bonny.

A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday by Dr. Harry T. Dixon in Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel. Burial is in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the funeral home Monday from 7 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
