THURMAN L. KEEL

Thurman Lee Keel, 73, of 112 Catelloe Road, went to be with the Lord, Friday, Feb. 16, 1996.

Mr. Keel was a native of Halifax County, a member of the Windsor Assembly of God, former member of the Bethel Assembly of God in Hampton, Va., and had served as a deacon in both churches. He was a World War II Army veteran and a retired welder for the Newport News Shipyard.

He is survived by his wife, Helen Pauline D. Keel; two sons, George L. Keel of Fredericksburg, Va., Paul R. Keel of Wauchula, Fla.; two sisters, Willie Mae Powell of Newport News, Va., Louise K. Sharpe of Rocky Mount, N.C.; three brothers, Frank W. Keel of Baltimore, Md., Raymond L. Keel of Newport News, Va., and James Keel of Yorktown, Va.; granddaughter, Carrie Grace Keel; and grandsons, George Keel Jr. and Paul Keel II.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Windsor Assembly of God by the Rev. Chuck Gray. Burial will be at 3 p.m. in Pineview Cemetery, Rocky Mount, N.C. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Walker Funeral Home. Memorial gifts may be made to Windsor Assembly of God Building Fund, 1505, S. King St., Windsor, N.C. 27983.
