ALICE W. POND

Alice Watson Pond, 94, of the 100 block of East 41st Street, died Feb. 16, 1996, in her home.

Miss Pond was born on May 8, 1901, in Portsmouth. She was the daughter of the late Benjamin Walter Pond and Gertrude Lee Fullmer Pond. She was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Advent in Norfolk where she was the Chairman of the Altar Guild until the time of her death. Miss Pond retired from the civil service with the U.S. Department of Commerce Maritime Commission.

Survivors include her sister, Mary E. Warren of Norfolk, and three nieces.

A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 22, 1996 at the Episcopal Church of the Advent by the Rev. Macon B. Walton and the Rev. Robert M. Miller. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Portsmouth. Memorial donations may be made to the Episcopal Church of the Advent, 9620 Sherwood Place Norfolk, Va. 23503. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, Norfolk Chapel, are handling the arrangements.
