JOSEPH S. CROWLING

Joseph Samuel Crowling, 83, of the 3400 block of Cricket Hollow Lane, widower of Frances Rainey Crowling, died on Thursday, Feb. 15, 1996, in Portsmouth.

Mr. Crowling, a native of Norfolk, was retired from the Norfolk Naval Shipyard, Planning and Estimating Division. He was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church and former member of Knights of Columbus 418.

Survivors include his son, Joseph V. Crowling of Oakton, Va.; a brother, George Crowling of Norfolk; two granddaughters, Barbara Ann Goodwin of Warrenton, Va. and Ellen Frances Rice of Sterling, Va.; and five great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held today at 3:45 p.m. in Meadowbrook Mausoluem Chapel by Rev. Leo Manalo. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. Foster Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
