A suspicious fire destroyed four work bays and at least a dozen cars at a used-car dealership Sunday afternoon, a Fire Department spokesman said.
The fire at Norfolk Motor Co. in the 7000 block of Military Highway was reported about 3:42 p.m. Firefighters called in a second alarm about 3:58 p.m., and the flames were brought under control by 4:05 p.m., the spokesman said.
The building, used for car repairs, was destroyed. All of the ruined cars belonged to the company.
The cause of the blaze was not released, and an investigation is ongoing, the spokesman said.
