WILLIAM A. SCOTT

William Alfred Scott, 84, formerly of Norfolk, died Feb. 17, 1996, at Riverside Hospital.

Mr. Scott, a native of Onancock, was retired from Seaboard Paint and Supply Company of Norfolk. He was a former employee of General Baking Company (Bond Bread) of Norfolk. During World War II he worked at the Portsmouth Naval Yard. He was a member of Onancock Baptist Church, Moose Lodge in Newport News, and Order of Odd Fellows.

Survivors include his wife, Louise Melson Scott; a son, William W. Scott of Spotsylvania; two grandsons, Steven Scott of Baltimore and James Scott of Freder-icks-burg; three stepchildren, Richard Melson, Debbie Prather, and Patricia Turnage; and eight step-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. today in Onancock Cemetery by Dr. Robert Estes. Memorial donations may be made to Moose Lodge in Newport News. Williams-Onancock Funeral Home is in charge.
