ORVILLE H. THOM

Orville Harrison Thom, 78, of the 100 block of Lynn Drive, died Feb. 19, 1996, in his residence.

Mr. Thom, a native of Ashland, Ky., was retired from the civil service at the Naval Air Station after 38 years of service. He was a Methodist and a member of Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels.

Survivors include his wife, Laura Powers Thom; a daughter and son-in-law, Sharon Thom Quinn and Capt. Q. Karl Quinn, U.S. Coast Guard, (retired), of Chesapeake; a sister, Nancy Thom Osborne of Ashland; a brother, John W. Thom of Ashland; and a granddaughter, Laura Culbertson Quinn of Chesapeake.

A graveside service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Wednesday in Churchland Baptist Church Cemetery by the Rev. Malcolm L. Yaple. Snellings Funeral Home, Churchland Chapel, is in charge.
