NEWPORT NEWS MURDER SUSPECT IS ARRESTED IN TEXAS.

A 28-year-old man wanted in the slaying of a Newport News man has been arrested in El Paso, Texas, by an FBI Fugitive Task Force.

Kenneth G. Hardy was taken into custody Friday without incident when he went to visit a girlfriend, according to the FBI.

A 1995 Pontiac reported stolen in Newport News was found nearby, the FBI said.

Hardy is a suspect in the death of Michael H. Martin, whose body was found in an abandoned shed in the Denbigh area of the city.

Police believe Martin was killed on Jan. 12.

Hardy is also a suspect in the Jan. 22 abduction and slaying of a man in Chesterfield County, S.C.
