Will somebody please keep People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals from moving to Norfolk? The organization wants to end zoos. It wants to take animals out of circuses.
These folks are against all animals in captivity and are radical and aggressive. They use mail, interviews and pickets to spread false information.
I am a member of the Circus Fans Association of America. I have ridden in a circus-train stable car. The animals are contented. Handlers are on 24-hour duty. The animals are praised and reprimanded like children. In the past 26 years, I have not seen any circus animals abused.
Animals just may be nicer than some people. Let's keep them around.
