Police responding to a citizen's complaint of gunshots found a 30-year-old man dead in the 2900 block of Fireside Road in the Campostella area.
Police spokeswoman Elizabeth Jones said Joe L. Lewis, of the 1800 block of Cullen Ave., was arguing with a man just before Lewis was shot in the chest. He died at the scene, she said.
Jones said she was unsure of what led to the argument. She said detectives had a suspect in custody, but his names was being withheld until he was charged with a crime.
