Suffolk Del. Robert E. Nelms has been charged with one count of indecent exposure following his arrest in a Richmond park on Feb. 15.
Police spokeswoman Brenda Hughes said the arrest took place at Byrd Park, which is in the heart of Richmond and a few miles west of the State Capitol.
In a brief interview aired on WDBJ-TV in Roanoke Wednesday, Nelms said he hoped the charge would not be an issue with voters and that he hoped the court would resolve the case in his favor.
Nelms is scheduled to appear in Richmond General District Court on March 15. MEMO: [This version appeared only in the replated edition of today's paper.]
