25 STUDENTS WHOSE ESSAYS WERE CHOSEN AS CONTEST FINALISTS

THERE WERE 115 entries in the Black History Month essay contest. Daily Break editor Eric Sundquist selected 25 finalists, which were judged by recruitment editor M.L. Lake, Teenology editor Lorraine Eaton and reporter Denise Watson.

The Virginian-Pilot thanks all who entered, and all the teachers who made the essay contest part of their classes' work.
