SOUTHERN SHORES - Christine Khoury Dwyer, 76, died Feb. 20, 1996, at Portsmouth General Hospital after a brief illness.

Mrs. Dwyer was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio. She lived for many years in the Washington, D.C., area. She began visiting the Outer Banks in the '50s and moved to Southern Shores permanently in 1970. Chris was an avid angler and gardner, cook and friend to many on the Outer Banks.

Survivors include her son, Michael J. Dwyer of Lafayette, N.J.; a daughter, Kate Dwyer of Asheville, N.C.; nephew, Fred Khoury; niece and nephew, Barbara and Jim Thompson; two granddaughters, Jeannine Evans and Denise Dwyer; a great-grandson, Thomas Evans Jr.; sisters, Katie Delaney and Frances Sawaya; brothers, Moses, Peter and Joseph Khoury, all of Ohio; and numerous other beloved nieces and nephews.

Memorial services are scheduled for Saturday at 1 p.m. at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Kill Devil Hills, N.C., milepost 7 1/2, Beach Road. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be forwarded to Outer Banks Spay Neuter Fund, P.O. Box 1159, Kitty Hawk, N.C. 27949. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Bridge Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
