Elijah Brown Jr., 83, of the 800 block of A Ave., died Feb. 21, 1996, in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.
He was born in Bennettsville, S.C., to Elijah and Anna Brown.
He is survived by a daughter, Ozella Ruffin of Norfolk; son, Eddie Turner of Pendleton, N.C.; sister, Helen Brown of Rocky Mount, N.C.; five grandchildren, Rudolph Ruffin Jr., Tony Ruffin, Mary Ann Ruffin, Brian Ruffin of Norfolk, and Michael Ruffin of Rochester, N.Y.; five great-grandchildren; and son-in-law, Rudolph Ruffin.
A graveside service will be conducted at noon Saturday by the Rev. Anthony Moses in Roosevelt Memorial Cemetery. Graves Funeral Home in charge.
