Clara Tolley Bunch, 79, of Chowan Garden Apartments and formerly of Rocky Hock, died Thursday, Feb. 22, 1996.
A native of Johnson County, Mrs. Bunch was the daughter of the late Charlie T. and Lillie Mae Faulkner Smith and was the wife of the late Clarence Edward Bunch Sr. Mrs. Bunch was a member of the Rocky Hock Baptist Church and a past member of the Edenton B.P.W.
She is survived by two daughters, Elva Stroud of Edenton, Beth Wright of Chapel Hill, N.C.; three sons, Charles Ray Tolley and Rudy Tolley, both of Raleigh, and Jerry Tolley of Elon College, N.C.; six stepsons, Lindsey Ray Bunch, Carlton Bunch, Edward Bunch, Alvin Bunch, Thurrell Gray Bunch, and Ralph Bunch; and one stepdaughter, Carolyn Rogerson; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Roland Tolley.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Rocky Hock Baptist Church by the Rev. Greg Brinson. Burial will folllow in the Beaver Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Evans Funeral Home and at other times at the residence of Joe and Elva Stroud at 200 Miles Brown St.
