A man arrested in the fatal shooting of a Virginia Beach resident after they apparently argued over citizens' band radios was identified Thursday as Joseph Babcock, 28.
Police said Babcock, of the 9500 block of 17th Bay St., was charged with murder and use of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
He is suspected of killing Robert O. Wade, 34, in the parking lot of the Little Creek East Shopping Center at East Little Creek Road and Shore Drive. Babcock was arrested at the scene shortly after the shooting about 5:30 p.m. Wednesday.
The men confronted each other after arguing over their CB radios, police said. Wade, of the 4500 block of Lookout Road in Virginia Beach, was pronounced dead at the scene.
