A public meeting to discuss a recently passed bill that would provide Hampton Roads with an authority to finance a sports arena has been rescheduled for Saturday, March 2.
It starts at 10 a.m. at the South Norfolk Library, 1100 Poindexter St.
The Hampton Roads Coalition of Civic Organizations originally scheduled the meeting for Feb. 17 but tentatively rescheduled for today. However, officials moved it to next Saturday because a suitable site could not be obtained until then. It was postponed because of a snowstorm that blanketed Hampton Roads.
The bill was passed by the Virginia House of Delegatesand sponsored by Del. Jerrauld C. Jones, D-Norfolk. Republican Sen. Frederick M. Quayle of Chesapeake, a co-patron of the bill, will be keynote speaker.
The meeting is expected to last two hours and is open to the public. by CNB
