I recently was at a restaurant where I observed Darren Perry and Keith Goganius, two professional football players.
In this day of negative print about athletes, it was great to see these men smile, sign autographs, shake hands, laugh and talk with others. One young boy even had the opportunity to sit down with them for several minutes. He left smiling, eyes shining, and he'll remember these two forever.
The two athletes are fantastic role models to children. The young man who sat with them, I'm sure, left dreaming about being a professional football player someday.
I wish more athletes were like these two. The NFL and the Hampton Roads community are fortunate to have gentlemen of this caliber.
