Minetta R. Webb, 87, died Feb. 23, 1996, at Sentara Leigh Hospital.
A native of Norfolk, she was the widow of Howard W. Webb. She was a retired teacher, having taught and influenced many young minds at St. Joseph's Catholic School and St. Mary's Academy for 30 years. Her education was obtained at Virginia Union University and Norfolk State University. She was a faithful and devoted mother of the Basilica of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception. She held longtime membership in the Catholic Daughters of America and the Bon Tons Social and Civic Club.
She is survived by her daughter, Faye E. Coleman and her son-in-law, Thomas E. Coleman of Virginia Beach; her brother, Robert Reed; her grandson, Geoffrey T. Coleman; her nieces, Wilma Suiter, Helen Thompson, Josephine Linyear, and Laura Smith; her nephew, Walter Webb; and several grand-nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be conducted on Wednesday, Feb. 28, at noon at the Basilica of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. A Christian wake will be held on Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Riddick Funeral Home, Norfolk. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Arthritis Foundation or St. Mary's Academy Scholarship Fund. ILLUSTRATION: Photo
