George Wesley Harris, 69, formerly of Norfolk, died Feb. 23, 1996, in his home.
Mr. Harris, an architect and native of Norfolk, was a member of The American Legion and The Knotts Island Ruritan Club. He was a U.S. Marine veteran of World War II and an avid automobile enthusiast.
Survivors include four daughters, Jane Louise Brooks, Suzanne Marie Harris Bidwell, Nancy Harris, and Amber Harris Duffer; two sons, William Saunders and Wesley Saunders; his father, William C. Harris Sr. of Norfolk; a sister, Marie Harris Hall; and 13 grandchildren. He was predeceased by his mother, Marie Sawyer Harris.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday by Pastor Frank T. Jennings at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will be at the funeral home Monday from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
