After spending 20 minutes attempting to clean the 1995 Virginia Beach city sticker off my windshield so I could replace it with the 1996 sticker, I wondered why I was doing this.
In addition to the property tax I pay on each vehicle, I also pay for a city sticker. Why can't we eliminate the city sticker entirely, saving the cost of printing and the pain and cost of cleaning up the old stickers, which never quite come off the windshield, and combine the two taxes into one? One check instead of two saves both the city and taxpayers the aggravation, time and the special tool needed to change the stickers.
