FILM NO PLACE FOR CHILD

I just attended the 5 p.m. showing of ``The Juror,'' an R-rated movie at a Virginia Beach theater and was shocked to see two women there to see the movie with a baby and a young girl about 8 or 9. The language, sex and violence were more than an adult could handle, and when I asked the manager how a child was allowed to attend such a violent movie, I was informed that any age child could attend an R-rated movie with an adult before 6 p.m. but not after that hour.

I agree it is up to the parents to screen what their children see on TV and at the movies, but how a parent could expose a child to a movie like ``The Juror'' that some adults find offensive I will never understand. The policy of R-rated movies should be looked into at all the theaters.
