I am responding to the news (Feb. 16) regarding Sheriff Robert McCabe.
It is true that the suing of officials by dishonest individuals with fabricated allegations is not unfamiliar in our society. The purpose is intimidation, revenge and financial gain. In this case, it's an attempt to discredit an honest family man like Sheriff McCabe.
I ran with Sheriff McCabe in the elections of 1993. I've known the sheriff for quite a few years. I believe in Sheriff McCabe's honesty, integrity and professionalism. He is totally dedicated to his family and his job.
