Theresa Evans Craft, 93, of Virginia Beach died Monday, Feb. 26, 1996, in Virginia Beach General Hospital.
She was the widow of Horace G. Craft. Born Oct. 16, 1902, in Lynchburg, she was the daughter of the late Samuel Luther Evans and Lorena Wooldridge Evans. She was employed by James A. Scott & Son Inc. of Lynchburg for 42 years, serving as secretary and treasurer of the Insurance Company until her retirement in February of 1965 when she moved to Virginia Beach to make her home with her daughter and son-in-law. She was an active member of Kempsville Presbyterian Church.
Mrs. Craft is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Barbara C. Bailey of Virginia Beach; and a brother, Samuel L. Evans of Charleston, S.C. She is also survived by three grandsons, Lawrence M. Bailey, Jr., Glenn L. Bailey and Mark Bailey, all of Virginia Beach.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Mrs. B. L. Stancil and a grandson, Warren E. Bailey.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Fort Hill Memorial Park in Lynchburg by the Rev. Dr. James H. Nowell. The family will receive friends today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Diuguid Funeral Service, 1016 Rivermont Avenue, Lynchburg, Va. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Kempsville Presbyterian Church, Building Fund, 620 Kempsville Road, Virginia Beach, Va., 23462, or to your favorite charity.
